The City of Antwerp aims to make its digital applications as accessible as possible, in line with the Flemish Government Decree of 7 December 2018.
This accessibility statement covers this online ticket shop. Everyone should be able to use the shop with ease: with a screen reader, with a keyboard only or with a strongly magnified display. It states to what extent the shop meets the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2, level AA (WCAG 2.2 AA), and with it WCAG 2.1 AA.
Preparation of this accessibility statement
This accessibility statement was prepared on 6 August 2026 and last reviewed on 24 October 2026.
The shop is tested automatically with axe-core on every release. Automated tests find only part of the possible barriers. On 24 October 2026 we also checked every page in every language with live data: automatically with axe-core and HTML_CodeSniffer, the whole purchase from ticket to checkout with the keyboard only, and the display at a screen width of 320 pixels (400% zoom) and with increased text spacing. A test with a screen reader has not been done yet. An independent audit commissioned by the City of Antwerp is planned; we will update this statement as soon as the results are in.
Compliance status
This ticket shop is partially compliant with WCAG 2.2 level AA and with the European standard EN 301 549. Partially means that not every requirement is met. The points we know of are listed below.

Open points
On these points the shop does not meet WCAG 2.2 AA. For each we give the consequence for you and the current status.
Calendar with the keyboard
In the calendar the keyboard does not work everywhere. When today is a closed day or can no longer be booked, no day in the ticket calendar can be reached by keyboard, even if bookable days exist that month. The same happens after paging to a month with no available days. It is also not always clear which element has focus.
- Success criteria
- 2.1.1 Keyboard, 2.4.7 Focus Visible
- Consequence
- Someone working with the keyboard only cannot pick any day of the month shown on such a day, and so cannot buy a ticket for those days.
- Current status
- The calendar is a shared booking component of the ticketing system. The defect has been reported to its developers.
Choosing a time slot with the keyboard
When you choose a time slot with the keyboard, focus then jumps back to the top of the page.
- Success criteria
- 2.4.3 Focus Order
- Consequence
- Someone using a keyboard or a screen reader has to move through the page again to choose the number of tickets.
- Current status
- The time slot choice is a shared booking component of the ticketing system. The defect has been reported to its developers.
English labels in the calendar
In the Dutch, French and German versions of the shop, a screen reader reads some parts of the calendar in English: the buttons to the previous and next month and the announcement of the chosen date.
- Success criteria
- 3.1.2 Language of Parts
- Consequence
- Someone using a screen reader hears those parts in English, possibly with the wrong pronunciation. The controls themselves work.
- Current status
- The calendar is a shared booking component of the ticketing system. The missing translation has been reported to its developers.
Tickets and invoices as PDF
Tickets and invoices are generated as PDF by the ticketing system. Those documents do not fully meet the accessibility requirements for documents.
- Success criteria
- EN 301 549, chapter 10 (documents)
- Consequence
- A PDF ticket is not readable in every part with a screen reader.
- Current status
- The content of your order is also in the confirmation e-mail.
Additional measures to promote accessibility
- Every release of the shop runs automated accessibility tests. If a test fails, nothing is released.
- The City of Antwerp has every shop audited externally around its go-live and every three to four years after that.
- This statement is reviewed every year and with every relevant change to the shop.
